Описание: Type 1a Supernova are used to measure distances in astronomy, because they always shine the same. Since we know how bright they should be, we can measure how far they are by measuring how faint they look. The reason for that is how they form, A white dwarf starts to steal matter from a nearby star until it reaches a 1.4 Solar masses and it explodes.
