Would you live in one of the infamous cube houses, the Kubuswoningen, in Rotterdam?
These 39 cube houses were designed by Piet Blom in 1977 & have inspired much of Rotterdam's architecture to this day. Inside, the cube houses feature a living room & a full kitchen on the first floor; a bedroom, a bathroom, & an office on the second floor; & a bonus living space/bedroom on the third floor with tons of natural light pouring through the windows!
The elevated cubes are supported on hexagonal piers; this design frees up the ground space for public use. Each cube measures 72' in height with each side measuring 25.5'. Due to the cube being rotated on it's longest diagonal end (much like a diamond), the cube house loses more than 25% of its 1000-sqft, leaving only about 750-sqft of liveable space!
