Описание: In this powerful oral history, former Executive Director of Rafiki Coalition for Health & Wellness shares the deeply rooted origin story of our organization—born out of collective care and activism during the height of the AIDS epidemic in 1986.

As Black community members faced abandonment, stigma, and displacement, a coalition of leaders came together to stand in the gap—to bring people in when the world was pushing them out. This video honors the legacy of those warriors and the birth of the Black Coalition on AIDS, what would become Rafiki Coalition.

🖤 Founded in San Francisco’s Bayview-Hunters Point, Rafiki continues to serve Black, LGBTQ+, and underserved communities with compassion and culturally affirming services.
