How to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit, Change the battery and get the last reading on your Vicks Digital Thermometer. V966/V912

How to Change from Fahrenheit to Celsius.
Start with the thermometer OFF. Hold down the center button until the display shows Lo. Then release the button. Press the button again to move between Fahrenheit (F) or Celsius (C), to choose the desired scale. Once the “C” or “F” starts to blink, push the button again to turn off the thermometer.

Turn on the thermometer and the display will be in Fahrenheit (F) or Celsius (C) based on the scale you set in the previous steps. Your thermometer will default to Fahrenheit (F)when you replace your battery.

How to change the battery.
The battery is depleted and needs replacing when the “▼” symbol appears and flashes in the center top of the display. Using a coin, unlock the battery cover and carefully remove the battery.

For models: V912, V912US or V912USV1, V966, V966US, V966USV1- Replace with a 3V, CR1225 silver oxide battery.

For models: V912USV2, V912USV3, V912BBUSV2, V912BBUSV3, V966USV2, V966USV3 - Replace with a 3V, CR1632 silver oxide battery .

Insert the new battery in the positive (+) side facing the battery cover. Replace the battery cover using a coin and tighten. Make sure the cover is completely secure after replacing the battery.

How to get the last reading.
To get the last reading on your thermometer, press the power button and continue to hold for 2 seconds. The last measured temperature will be shown in the display with the letter “M” under the degree sign for 3 seconds. The unit will then shut off.
