The NFT (Non-Fungible Token) is a digital certificate on the blockchain. Most credentials on blockchains are fungible. Owing to its uniqueness and indivisibility, NFT is widely used in digital art and copyrighted content. The technology can be used to verify the authenticity of documents while also preventing them from being tampered with or stolen, as well as facilitating verification, confirmation, and tracking. While often linked together in the mainstream press, NFTs and cryptocurrencies are not the same: NFT is a blockchain-related technology, but cryptocurrency can be viewed as a blockchain-derived application. NFT technology works best on distributed systems. Thus, separating NFT and cryptocurrencies would help enable mass adoption of NFT in a range of industries regardless of crypto regulations.
