Описание: To be honest, Moldova was never a destination I imagined visiting. It simply was not on my radar. Then we found cheap flights, and suddenly we were on our way.

I will not over-romanticize it. Moldova is a very small country with relatively few major sights, and a few days are more than enough to explore it. Still, we somehow managed to turn the trip into a memorable adventure.

We met two locals, Maximilian and Tudor, who introduced us to Moldovan gastronomy and hospitality. Together we tasted countless wines and local spirits, which turned one of our evenings into an unexpectedly unforgettable experience. Moldova may be quiet at first glance, but its people can quickly make it come alive.

One of the most interesting parts of the journey was our day trip to Transnistria, a breakaway region that seeks closer ties with Russia. Many official sources strongly advise travelers to think carefully before visiting, but we decided to go anyway. The entry process was surprisingly smooth. You do not receive a passport stamp, since Transnistria is not internationally recognized as an independent country, but the temporary entry document was issued quickly and without complications.

We experienced no problems during our visit and were able to leave the region easily as well. Organized and informal transfer buses regularly operate between Moldova and Transnistria, making the trip relatively accessible. Visiting felt like stepping back in time, with Soviet-era symbols, architecture, and atmosphere still very present. It truly felt like a journey into another era.

Overall, it was an unexpectedly exciting trip. A few days are enough for Moldova, and spending at least one day in Transnistria is definitely worth considering. That said, everyone should read current travel advisories and make their own informed decision before visiting.
