Ingredients:
Chicken: 1 kg, cut into small pieces
Water: 1¼ cups
Ginger Paste: 1½ tbsp
Garlic Paste: 1½ tbsp
Onion: 1 cup, chopped
Tomatoes: 3, cut into cubes
Bay Leaves: 2
Salt: 2 tsp
Plain Yogurt: 3 tbsp
Coriander Powder: 2 tsp
Cumin Powder: 2 tsp
Pepper Powder: 2 tsp
Cooking Oil: 4 tbsp
Green Chilies: 3, chopped
Sugar: ¼ tsp
Cream or Milk Powder: 2 tbsp
Fresh Coriander: 3 tbsp, chopped
Ginger: Julienned, for garnish
Instructions:
Preparation:
In a large pan, combine water, chicken, ginger paste, garlic paste, chopped onion, tomatoes, bay leaves, and salt.
Cooking:
Mix well and cook over high heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Ensure that the chicken is thoroughly cooked and tender.
Tomato Skin Removal:
After 20 minutes, remove the lid. Carefully pick out and discard the tomato skins.
Adding Spices and Yogurt:
Add plain yogurt, coriander powder, cumin powder, and pepper powder to the pan. Stir well to combine.
Adding Oil and Chilies:
Pour in the cooking oil and add chopped green chilies. Mix well, cover the pan, and let it simmer on medium-low heat for another 15 minutes.
Final Touches:
Remove the lid and stir in sugar, cream or milk powder, and chopped coriander. Cover the pan and let it rest on the lowest heat setting for 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Garnish and Serve:
