Описание: Given the communicative demands in today’s digital age, it is necessary for educators to broaden the teaching of literacy beyond language learning to include meaning-making with multimodal texts. Multimodal literacy is about developing an increased semiotic awareness amongst teachers and students to guide their interpretation and creation of multimodal texts. The first speaker, Victor Lim, will share his thoughts on the what, why and how of teaching multimodal literacy. The second speaker, Lindsay Herron, will share her experience of integrating multimodal projects in her language classroom and provide practical tips on how judicious use of tech tools can increase students’ learning and motivation through multimodal projects.
