From Super Bowl XI with Ken Stabler, to his dominance in Super Bowl XV and Super Bowl XVIII, Branch was the deep threat that changed how defenses played championship football. His speed forced entire coverage schemes to shift. His presence helped open the field for legends like Marcus Allen.

Yet for decades, the Pro Football Hall of Fame ignored him.

While other receivers were inducted into Canton, Cliff Branch waited. And waited. And waited.

He passed away in 2019 without ever hearing the words “Hall of Famer.”
