Today I'm reviewing and flipping through Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain and the accompanying workbook. This is one of the best books for teaching you how to think like an artist and how to process and translate what you see onto paper. If you're trying to teach yourself how to draw, this is one of my top ten book recommendations for learning on your own.

I used some of the lessons in here when teaching 5th-8th grade art with consistently fantastic results. Every student had exponential growth and increased confidence with their drawing skills. I don't doubt I could have taught the same lessons to lower grades or upper grades with similar results.

If you're wanting to look through art books and get recommendations, you've come to the right place. Since it's not always possible to look through a book online, especially out of print art books, I am creating a series of book look videos from my personal art library.
