Ashdod, Israel – Detained activists and boats from the Global Sumud Flotilla are arriving at Ashdod port after being intercepted by Israeli naval forces en route to Gaza.
The flotilla, carrying international participants, sought to challenge Israel’s blockade of the besieged enclave. Israeli authorities are expected to process and possibly deport those on board.
The arrival follows a tense stand-off at sea, where the boats were stopped before reaching Gaza’s coastal waters.
