Описание: Châtenois, ideally located on the Wine Route, is a fortified town with a unique charm. Two walls surround the town, dating from the 13th and 15th centuries. These ramparts are showcased each year during the traditional "Rampart Festival" in June.

These sites are listed as Historic Monuments, notably thanks to the Witches' Tower, a 15th-century Gothic gate tower located on the second wall; and the 18th-century St. Georges Church. Step through the door of the latter, where you'll discover one of the masterpieces of organ builder Silbermann.

From the church, stroll along the interpretive trail along the ramparts and then descend towards the heart of the town. Lose yourself in the narrow streets and be captivated by the typical Alsatian houses where geraniums bloom on the balconies every summer.

You can also explore the surrounding cycle paths during the annual Slow Up in June, hike through the vineyards, along the GR5 trail, or on the Camino de Santiago.

Conclude your walk with a visit to the wine cellars and stop at one of the town's excellent restaurants, which offer various local specialties such as tarte flambée.

Châtenois, idéalement située sur la route des Vins, est une cité fortifiée au charme unique. Deux enceintes entourent la commune, datant du 13e et du 15 e siècle. Des remparts mis en scène chaque année lors de la traditionnelle « Fête des Remparts » au mois de juin.

Ces lieux sont inscrits aux Monuments Historiques grâce notamment à la Tour des Sorcières, une porte-tour gothique du 15e siècle située sur la seconde enceinte ; et l’église St Georges du 18e siècle. Poussez la porte de cette dernière où vous découvrirez l’un des chefs-d’œuvre du facteur d’orgues Silbermann.

Depuis l’église, promenez-vous sur le sentier d’interprétation le long des remparts puis descendez vers le cœur de la commune. Perdez-vous dans les ruelles et laissez-vous séduire par les maisons typiques alsaciennes où les géraniums fleurissent les balcons chaque été.

Vous pouvez également partir à la découverte des pistes cyclables des environs lors de l’annuel slow Up en juin, randonner dans le vignoble, sur le sentier du GR5 ou sur le Chemin de Compostelle.

Terminez votre promenade par une visite de caves et arrêtez-vous dans l’une des bonnes tables de la commune qui proposent différentes spécialités locales comme la tarte flambée.
