The World's Most Advanced Solar Car: Lightyear Zero (725km Range)

Описание: Lightyear, the Dutch company behind what it claims is the world’s first long-range solar car. Their first edition is now out for pre-ordering and starts at 150,000 euros. The "One" can travel up to 720km on one charge.

The company raised $110m this year to fund research and development as well as its first round of production. Deliveries of the lightyear one prototype are set to roll out next summer.

Lightyear claims the prototype will only consume 83 WH/km - this is 2x less than any other electric car on the market. In theory, the prototype should be able to travel up 725 kilometers on a single charge

A cheaper version is projected to come out to €50,000 with mass production in 2024.

"Manufacturing will allow us to make smaller batches of vehicles and thereby vehicles that are more integral to your use case,” he said. “And those will create swarms of vehicles that are really optimized for the stuff you would like to do".
