Metallic Color Removal

And today I want to talk to you about metallic color.
I have a lot of clients coming in with metallic color in their hair. Yesterday I had one client come in and I could not get that color out of her hair. I worked on it for 3 hours because she did not know what type of color it was. But we realized it was metallic color.

Today I'm going to show you how to get this out of your hair. You don't use a normal traditional color remover. You use Malibu treatment or you can use my tried and true method hair color remover for metallic hair color that you can do yourself at home.

These types of colors have metal shards in them that inbed into the hair. What is bad about this is that it tears the hair apart from the inside out. It creates a shield, a mirroring effect, which prevents conditioners, or any other color, any other service from going into the hair. So basically, you are stuck with like that, until it completely grows out. UNLESS you can remove the color.

Fortunately there is a solution! Now, with the traditional color removers, like Malibu treatment, that typically is the best way to do it. But I'm going to show you how to do it at home!

This is what you'll need (ingredients):

1/2 Cup Epson Salts
1/2 Cup Lemon Juice
1 Gallon Distilled Water
1 additional empty gallon jug

Directions:
Split these components into 2 separate gallons, so you'll need that additional empty gallon jug.
Split the components in half; 1/4 cup of the Epson salts and the Lemon Juice in each gallon jug, and half a gallon of (the distilled) water in each jug. Let it sit overnight.
When you get ready to wash your hair, you are going to immerse your hair in this solution. DO NOT wet your hear first with water. Immerse your hair in the solution. Let it sit fr up to 5 minutes, then rinse and shampoo. And make sure you use a good reconstructor or preferably if not a reconstructor, a good conditioner.
