For one day only, Oxfam brought a pop-up pub to the streets of London, inviting visitors to ‘pay what they thought was fair’ for a pint.
The Fair Pour popped up at the Queen’s Head in Holborn last week, aiming to raise awareness of wealth inequality with the amount that customers were paying for their pint being based on their individual net worth.
In line with Dry January, the non-alcoholic pub offered mocktails, alcohol-free beers, and discussions on tax justice.
Oxfam aims to highlight the urgent need for progressive taxation and fairer investment in public services. The event coincided with the Davos World Economic Forum and included a pub quiz with a free round for the winning team.
