Guybrush Threepwood is a boy who has just arrived to the coast of Melee Island, to become a fierce Pirate swordsman.

But our hero ignores the strange events taking place around Melee Island, and on the even more mysterious Monkey Island...

As he delves into a whirlwind of mystery, Guybrush soon realizes that things were not going the way he thought, that even bloodthirsty pirates can be afraid, and that becoming a pirate is not achieved simply by using a sword and drinking grog.
