The factory E30 differential cover features only one mounting provision and is a guaranteed failure point on your boosted M5X. A secondary mounting ear was added to the billet cover to further increase the cover's strength, providing an additional source of stability and driveline shock absorption. The secondary mount is secured to the chassis using a sheet metal bracket and a billet aluminum plate, which can be bolted on for easy installation or welded for maximum strength and rigidity.

Another drawback of the factory differential cover is its lack of any cooling features. To solve this issue, Turner's differential cover upgrade features advanced cooling technology. Large external fins have been added to the cover, and are optimized using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis to efficiently dissipate heat, reducing overall fluid temperatures.
