Air Ticket Refund Rules Changed | Full Refund Within 14 Days

Описание: India’s aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has introduced major passenger-friendly reforms to make air travel easier.

Under the new rules, passengers can cancel or modify their flight tickets within 48 hours of booking without paying any penalty. Airlines and ticketing agents cannot charge cancellation fees beyond the basic fare and fuel surcharge.

Refunds must be processed within 14 working days, and airlines are fully responsible for it. All statutory charges like User Development Fee (UDF), Airport Development Fee (ADF), and Passenger Service Fee (PSF) must be fully refunded.

Passengers can also correct minor name mistakes free of cost within 24 hours of booking.

The new rules will come into effect from March 26 and aim to reduce passenger complaints about high cancellation charges and delayed refunds.
