Political tension in Odisha is rising ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections, scheduled in just a few days. Both BJD and Congress have issued strict whips to their MLAs to prevent cross voting during the crucial election.

The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has issued a three-line whip directing all MLAs to stay in Bhubaneswar from March 13 to 16, warning of strict action against those who violate party discipline. Meanwhile, Congress has also instructed its 14 MLAs to remain united during the voting process.

The fight for the fourth Rajya Sabha seat has intensified as BJD and Congress jointly support candidate Datteshwar, while BJP is backing independent candidate Dilip Ray.
