Sixty-one years after the first summiting of Mount Everest on 29 May 1953, Nepal mountain rescue development is a main topic at the 10th World Congress on High Altitude Medicine at EURAC in Bolzano. In this video Buddha Basnyat (President of the International Society for Mountain Medicine) talks about alpinism and rescue then and now, and Pranawa Koirala, a Nepalese physician, talks about the recent avalanche accident in April 2014, and his experience during the rescue operation.
