The two winners will join the top seven teams in their respective groups. Eight teams from both divisions will participate in a best-of-three knockout match in the first round of the playoffs. After the Conference Semi-Finals and Conference Finals, two teams from the two parts will advance to the MLS Cup Finals. The champion will be determined at the end of that final.
