Police search two addresses linked to Peter Mandelson: Watch Friday's ITV News at Ten

Описание: Government officials are going through tens of thousands of documents in relation to Mandelson's appointment as US ambassador. Officers have been searching one address in Wiltshire, and another in Camden, London. 

Two people believed to be police officers arrived outside Lord Mandelson’s house near Regent’s Park in central London on Friday afternoon. One of them appeared to be wearing a small body camera. They knocked on the door and entered the house.

It came before Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer warned a 'very significant volume of material' will likely need to be reviewed in relation to Lord Mandelson’s appointment as ambassador to the US as Parliament’s security watchdog assesses which documents can be released.

The Metropolitan Police earlier confirmed it was investigating the peer over allegations relating to files appearing to show him sharing government information with paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein during the financial crash.
