An Oxfam/GFFO funded drought project implemented by Oxfam partner; Merti Integrated Develpment Program (MID-P) in Isiolo County Kenya. The intervention involved rehabilitating water systems in four villages of Kinna, Barambate, Kanchoradi, and Ngaremara. The project currently serves 1,053 households with a total population of 6,318.
Kenya experienced a deadly prolonged drought period of nearly five years beginning 2020-2023. More than 2 million animals were killed and over 5 million people rendered acutely food insecure.
Thanks to the resources mobilized by Oxfam and partners to help mitigate the deadly hunger.
