This training hack has allowed me to get great muscle growth results with a lighter-than-usual weight. This is because the tourniquet occludes just a portion of the venous flow return to the heart. This results in the building of metabolic waste products such as lactic acid.
Think of occlusion training, or BFR as a chemical stressor. When lifting heavy weights, resistance is a mechanical stressor on the muscles, bones, and joints... Using BFR as a chemical stressor allows you to let your body heal from any mechanical damage or injury while continuing to train your body for performance, healing, or aesthetics.
