In one of his videos I recognized the location and we chatted about meeting up next time I visit in the comments section. Seems like, "yeah sure like that will happen" but when I messaged Zeke he was totally down! Fast forward and here we are! I was hoping we could skate a pump track in the area, but Zeke informed me of recent changes making it bikes only now but told me about Rockridge as another option.
How ironic that this park doesn't have any rails or ledges... its kind of like one giant freestyle pump track with bowls and copings. It almost seemed like it was made for surf skating?!?
Cool place with some cool kids, always fun watching them try my Carver and I made sure to get some footage of them riding it. Big thank you to my camera-kid pal Jayden for catching some chase footage of me on the Swallowtail Carver.
This was my first time filming another YouTuber and I so wish I had done things differently. At the time I was just exited to actually meet and be skating together! I should have done a bit more planning for the shoot number one, but at the same time I was intimated a bit by Zeke's skills when it comes to filming but busted out the Hero9 and went for it!
The YOW (Your Own Wave) skate that Zeke brought is an awesome board and I was psyched to finally try one out! They pump and carve amazing and would be awesome for cruising. Also better suited for surf training due to that dive nose (just like a surfboard). However, in the bowls the nose dive would result in occasional wheel bite.
Carvers were made for surfing bowls. I can't wait for my next one! Full park style with C5 trucks and park wheels, looking forward to doing a review and comparison of all 3 Carver truck designs asap!
