All individuals who work in New York's cannabis industry are required to complete the Responsible Workforce Training Program, which includes:
Two online courses: “Cannabis Product Safety and Responsibility” (from the NY State Office of Cannabis Management) and “Cannabis Workforce Responsibility” (from the NY State Department of Labor).
At least one hour of implicit bias or cultural competency training.
At least two hours of position-specific training from your employer.
The Cannabis Product Safety and Responsibility course ensures you understand key elements of working in New York’s cannabis industry, including state regulations, and information about consumer safety.
Key Points:
Watch at Your Own Pace: Pause, rewind, and use closed captioning available in multiple languages as needed.
Training Verification Form: After watching both Responsible Workforce Training videos on YouTube, complete the Training Verification Form (available on https://cannabis.ny.gov/workforce), save a copy for your records, and submit a copy to the cannabis business where you are working.
