We acknowledge the Wiradjuri people as the traditional custodians of the land in which we live and work and we pay our respects to Elders past, present, and future for they hold the memories, culture, tradition, and hopes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people that contribute to our community.
Dyu yindyamali Wiradjuri mayiny. Wiradjuri bala walumaldhaanygalang ngurambang-gu. Ngurambang-ga ngiyanhi murunwigi yindyamali-yanhi mudyigaanggalam-bu balumbambal-bu. Nganhaguliyalaa wirimbili giilanggalam-bu winhangangidyal-bu Wiradjuri-giyalang-bu ngurambangguwal-giyalang-bu. Darren Wighton is a Wiradjuri man from Condobolin in Central NSW, and has resided in Albury for more than 25 years. He is a skilled artist, cultural performer, and community leader who has worked in education, community orgs and pastoral care and now working for local land services. Darren has a passion for his language and culture and designs cultural programs to cater for schools, community groups and individuals with knowledge and learnings from our ancient culture passed down through Elders, stories and our connection to Country.
