Why Japan COULDN'T Invade Australia... Even After Singapore Fell

Описание: March 1942. Singapore has fallen. Darwin is bombed. Japan controls everything from Burma to the Solomon Islands. Australia looks isolated and vulnerable with just 7 million people. Yet Japan never invaded. Not because they couldn't execute amphibious operations—they'd just pulled off some of the most successful landings in military history. They never invaded Australia because the mathematics didn't work.
This is the story of impossible logistics, rapid Australian mobilisation, and cold calculations that saved a continent.
By June 1942, Australia had equipped 8 infantry divisions specifically for home defence—not militia with old rifles, but proper divisions with modern weapons. Their 25-pounder artillery outranged every Japanese field gun by 2,000 metres. Their 2-pounder anti-tank guns could penetrate every Japanese tank at any combat range. Australian factories were producing 2,000 rifles per week and 30,000 artillery rounds per month.
But the real impossibility was logistics. The distance from Rabaul to Brisbane: 2,400 kilometres of open ocean. To invade and hold even one Australian city would require 8-10 divisions—200,000 combat troops—plus 150 transport vessels and 50-60 supply ships. Every ship would be vulnerable to submarines and air attack across entirely predictable routes. Japan's merchant marine was already stretched to breaking point supplying operations across 5 million square kilometres.
Japanese military planners did the calculations. They knew Australian defensive preparations. They knew their own shipping limitations. They knew the force ratios required. And they knew it was impossible.
This video breaks down the actual numbers—shipping tonnages, artillery ranges, production rates, force requirements, supply line distances—that made invasion physically impossible, not just difficult. The mathematics of modern warfare, calculated honestly by professionals who understood logistics, showed any invasion would fail catastrophically.
