For controlling the speed of the vehicle, we need to vary the engine’s angular velocity. Engine works between a particular range of rpm and between this range , we have to find the values of gear ratio used in gearbox for stable gearbox working . Selection of stable ratio also leads in achieving maximum speed in minimum time .
