Описание: A small shaded pole motor in a fan stopped working, just humming or turning very slowly. The cause was dry bearings. As with many of these motors, the sintered bronze bearings were low on oil. These motors pop up in many vintage record decks, and tape recorders too. Even Microwaves have these. The technique used to make them spin freely once more is the same as this motor in a small fan. Be careful not to get any oil on any rubber mountings or belts, idlers, and so on ! As with anything mains driven, always turn the electricity OFF before you tinker !
