Shura no Toki — The Legend of the Fist
The Swordless Art of the Shadow of Death
In wartime Japan, the land was full of samurai who relied on the edge of the sword as their refuge. But amidst the clashes of thousands of swords, there was a shadow moving like the wind… No sword, no armor, no fame on the battlefield, but all the brave men who faced each other did not escape.
His name was… “Mutsu”
The successor of the unarmed martial art who could defeat the greatest masters of the era with a single punch.
“Our art is silence… but when moving, there is no sound louder than the fall of the enemy.”
The first light of the fist in the age of the sword
Mutsu Yakumo — A silent young man travels amidst the smell of blood of the Sengoku period, not for war, not for the country, but to search for the “truth of the fist” and someone worthy of the art of Mutsu.
He meets Miyamoto Musashi, who holds two swords.
The confrontation between the iron edge and the empty fist clashed amidst the mist on an old wooden bridge.
The result is not just victory… But Musashi admitted:
“I turned my back on my art to understand yours.”
The Shogun’s Enemy
In the later era, Mutsu’s heir faced the Tokugawa Shogun who distrusted the art and wanted it to disappear from the world.
“An art so strong that it has no weapons, it must be erased.”
The clash took place at the Nichijo Palace, under the rain.
Mutsu defeated a hundred soldiers without taking any lives — because his teaching was “Stop the enemy, not kill him.”
The Shogun admitted with a few words:
“I thought the sword was everything… but you showed me that the ‘heart’ is more frightening than steel.”
The fist and the heart of a young child
During the Meiji era, this art declined, and people turned to guns. The young Mutsu taught an orphan to use his fists to protect himself.
Until one day, the child became a gangster, using the fists he used to protect instead of hurting.
“You taught me the fists, but not the heart.”
Mutsu decided to erase what he had created… and in that fight, he shed his first tears.
The Art of the Wind That Will Never Be Recorded in History
The art of Mutsu has never been recorded. There are no books, no teachers, no schools.
There is only one successor in each generation who carries the spirit of the fist.
Finally… a man from the Heisei era walks among the people on a modern street, wearing headphones, looking no different from any other person.
But in his heart… the art of Mutsu still exists.
“Even if the world changes… my fist without a sword still exists to stop the violence.”
“Mutsu Enmei Ryu” — The art without a sword, the one who fights to stop the fight.
An art that no one understands because it never needs praise, it never needs recognition.
It just wants to “stop those who are going astray”
With a fist that doesn’t kill
And a heart that is stronger than any kind of steel.
