Nestled in the parklands between the city centre and North Adelaide, is the Adelaide Oval venue, a sports ground which initially opened back in 1871. With the capacity to hold over 53,000 individuals, it is a popular venue to host cricket tournaments, and rugby and football matches. For Adelaide residents, though, it is perhaps best known for the Adelaide Oval Abductions, the name given to the disappearances of two young children who were attending a football game in the 1970s.
