In this deep dive, I try to break down Koei Tecmo’s mindset toward Dead or Alive by looking at what they prioritized up to this point in their business using things like sales trends, interviews, and how their focus has shifted toward away from the Ninja Gaiden IP even though there was just a revival of it. I will use this data to determine if DOA has a chance..

I also explore the current state of the DOA community, how Itagaki’s passing reignited interest in the series, and why the upcoming 30th anniversary in 2026 might be the moment for a true comeback if we make enough noise, because they are indeed listening..
