As General Kazim approaches in a helicopter gunship, intent on eliminating Dirk, Al, and Eva to protect his secrets, the trio is cornered within the ironclad.
Sahara (2005)
Dirk Pitt (Matthew McConaughey), a former Navy SEAL and marine engineer, teams up with his wisecracking sidekick Al Giordino (SteveZahn) on a treasure hunt across North Africa. They're in search of a lost Confederate ironclad ship—the CSS Texas—which vanished during the American Civil War and is rumored to have ended up buried in the African desert.
Meanwhile, Dr. Eva Rojas, (Penélope Cruz) a World Health Organization scientist, is investigating a deadly plague spreading through Mali. Her path crosses with Dirk and Al’s, and they uncover a much larger conspiracy involving illegal toxic waste dumping that threatens to poison the region's water supply.
