Africa is bestowed with exceptional species richness and diversity, and is home to some of the world’s most iconic natural areas. In addition to these areas’ importance for the conservation of birds and other forms of biodiversity, the ecosystem services they provide support human lives, livelihoods, and sustainable socio-economic development. However, an increasing number of African sites are threatened by human activities. The BirdLife Africa Partnership actively endeavours to safeguard priority sites against the most pressing of these threats. In this webinar, a panel of speakers from various African countries will discuss the Partnership’s successes, current challenges, and collaborative efforts to counter threats to iconic sites across the continent.
