SAN GORGONIO | Tallest Mountain In Southern California | 4K

Описание: Standing at 11,503 ft above sea level, San Gorgonio Mountain also known as the Old Greyback is the highest peak in Southern California. This time I was tracing back the path I took going to the top from some 8 years ago. Starting at Vivian Creek trailhead up to the summit and down to Momyer trailhead. Lots of bugs at lower level but water is abundant this time of the year. It rained on us for a bit. Since we started late, we never made it to summit for the night instead we stayed up around 10,600 ft high and be safe and not falling in the dark. The sunset is always amusing to watch.
We got lucky at the summit for it was so calm and peaceful. We met so many friendly folks including a ranger named Curtis. It was a very long hike down to Momyer trail. The first water crossing from the summit was about 5 miles or so in Plummer Meadows. The trail here was fully overgrown with buckthorn and manzanita grove that will cut through your lower limbs, long pants is highly recommended.

Disclaimer: There was no intention of any disperse camping by our group, we felt safer to discontinue the trek by 7:00PM for our own safety.
