Ukrainian Territory Under Russian Control

Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022. However, Russia had first captured Ukrainian territory in 2014, when it had taken over Crimea and a large part of Luhansk Oblast (State) in Eastern and Southern Ukraine. After 2022, Russian forces have occupied vast tracts of territories in Eastern Ukraine including Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Oblasts.
According to Reuters, Russia currently controls 114,500 square km (more than 19%) of Ukraine. Russia has officially incorporated all four provinces as Russian territory in 2022, shortly after the war began.
Russia has put a pre-condition of swap of territories for ceasefire in the ongoing war with Ukraine. The US President has given support to this condition. It remains to be seen whether Ukraine gives in to Russian conditions.
