Описание: The tension between director Alfred Hitchcock and his leading lady in The Birds, Tippi Hedren, escalated to a disturbing level when Hitchcock targeted Hedren's family. During post-production, Hitchcock had a mask of Hedren's face made and subsequently used it to create a doll that was an exact replica of her. Hitchcock then dressed up the doll to resemble Hedren's character in the movie and sent it to her six-year-old daughter as a birthday gift. The daughter in question was actress Melanie Griffith. The doll was placed in a small coffin, making the gesture all the more disturbing. Hitchcock's behavior was inappropriate and had a negative impact on Griffith, who later spoke out against him using strong language.
