Cute Tea Light Candle Holder

Today I’m taking a cute, but fairly basic tea light candle holder that I got from the craft store and decking it out with a full makeover to turn this little birdcage into a DIY treasure piece fit for a mermaid’s grotto.

I’m working with hot glue, which might seem a bit counter intuitive since it’s a candle holder and there will be heat, but due to the shape of the holder it actually worked out fine.

I love the ice blue vase fillers that I used in this craft. They are a gorgeous color and a great shape. Not square, but with squared off edges, they are quite handy to work with on a variety of projects and they reflect the light beautifully.
