A 35-minute journey across Bhutan’s most remote and demanding trek in the high Himalayas — starting in Laya and ending in Sephu, filmed in October 2025. This film follows the full progression of our expedition led by senior trekking guide Tshetem Norbu, and supported by Mountain Madness and Sacred Himalaya Travel.
The journey begins in Punakha, where we are initially forced to turn back after a road closure delays our approach to Gasa. Once the route reopens, the trek continues through Takshimakha and into the high-altitude village of Laya, before advancing across Rodophu, Narethang, Tarina, Woche, Lhedi (where we visit a school), and Thanza, over passes above 5,000 m, and on to Maurothang and finally Sephu.
