How to catch Esperance Carp in FFXIV

Описание: How to catch Esperance Carp, the big fish of Proto Alexandria in Living Memory.

*Note that while Popper Lure is recommended for prep, it is not exclusively the bait you need to use. You can use any valid bait with this method, but I just recommend Popper Lure.

Conditions: 22-24 during Clouds after Rain

Min Gathering: 4,450

Intuition Buff
3x Golden Day
3x Scarlet Queen
Both caught on any valid bait in Proto Alexandria

📋Window Prep (building intuition)
For prep, we're going to catch three Golden Days and two Scarlet Queens with the second Identical Casted ahead of the window.

Start by casting out into Proto Alexandria (I use Popper Lure for cost reasons, you can use any bait, Red Maggot ideally) and use Modest Lure up to 3 times (or until the weak-bite message). Reel in the first ! bite you get.

If you get a Starglass Gibel, use Surface Slap - cast back out and use Modest Lure again. On the next ! bite, use Triple Hook.

If you get a Golden Day, use Identical Cast - cast back out, and use Double Hook on the next bite (make sure you have enough GP!)

After getting 3 Golden Day, cast out but use Ambitious Lure up to 3 times (or until the strong-bite message). Reel in the first !! bite you get, as this'll determine what you do next.

If you get Scarlet Day on your first !! bite, do NOT use Identical Cast - cast back out and just repeat until you catch a second one. THEN after you catch the second, use Identical Cast.

If you catch an Ultimoat Carp on your first !! bite, use Surface Slap and cast back out. The next !! bite will be Scarlet Queen. You can either catch just one, then repeat the step for a second (do not use Identical Cast!), or you can use Double Hook on the !! bite (while Carp is slapped!), then use Identical Cast. Make sure you have at least 750 GP to pull this off if you go this route, and you risk making triggering intuition a little more difficult.

Once you have your 2 Scarlet Queens and 3 Golden Day, you are ready for the window. Wait until 21:55 before casting out again.

🎣Catching Esperance Carp
At 21:55, cast out to catch your last Scarlet Queen to trigger intuition. Use Surface Slap, then chum and cast back out. Use Ambitious Lure up to 3 times (or until the strong-bite message). If you get a ! or !! bite, use Rest, Chum and cast back out like before. When your GP runs low, prioritize Ambitious Lure for now.

Finally, on !!! bites, use Hook to reel in Esperance Carp.
