Need an epic tote bag for trick-or-treating, your next trip to the library, or the grocery store? No problem.
This tote bag is easy to customize. The video here shows the very basics of a tote and does NOT include the zipper pocket. If you want to learn how to add a zipper pocket, check out the adding a zipper pocket tutorial here: • Creating a simple zipper pocket - method one
The zipper tutorial is an easy way to add a zipper to any bag of your choosing.
The finished project is about 14 inches tall, 9 inches wide, and 5 inches deep.
Needed supplies excluding basic tools like sewing machine and thread:
1/2 yard of an exterior fabric such as canvas or cotton
1/2 yard of interior fabric such as canvas or cotton
3.25 yards of one-inch seat belt webbing
1/2 yard to 1 yard of woven interfacing if you are using cotton woven
9x5 piece of double-sided fusible heavy stabilizer such as Peltex
tailor's chalk
lighter
1/4 inch double-sided tape
Piece dimensions:
2 exterior pieces and 2 liner pieces - 15 inches wide by 17.5 inches tall
1 piece of Peltex 9x5
2 pieces of seatbelt webbing 56 inches each
