"I'm Anthony Russo. I'm an orthopedic spine surgeon.

The complexity of caring for the spine just became the most intriguing thing to me in the realm of Orthopedics. I've been practicing in southwest Montana for the last 15 years. Highly concentrated on complex issues with the spine. I've been fortunate enough to build a team that understands those complexities and it allows us to care for that level of pathology of the spine on par with any tertiary care facility in the country.

We've Incorporated the use of robotic navigation. The beauty of robotic navigation is it allows us to plan exactly the reconstruction that we want for that patient, perform that reconstruction exactly to the plan that we have set pre-operatively and allows them to recover more reliably, more quickly with less discomfort. Hopefully never needing another spine surgery again.

Went to medical school at George Washington University. I had taken a naval scholarship. During my fourth year of residency 9/11 occurred. Spent most of 2006 in Iraq. Probably one of the most profound learning experiences of my life. The need to develop a very cohesive team... work calmly in chaotic environments and ultimately provide our service members the highest quality care possible.

Patient care is the most important thing. I was very impressed with the long-term goals that Billings Clinic was trying to bring to the Bozeman area. Build a state-of-the-art spine center and truly care for every individual that trusts us enough to put their health in our hands. That philosophy... having guided me through my entire medical career... to see that reflected in an organization was uplifting."
