Cops F**ked Around and Found Out | Lawsuit Settled

Описание: On November 4th, 2014, Phillip Turner, owner of the Battousai youtube channel, was in Galveston, Texas investigating why a fallen African American cop was left off the fallen officer memorial as well as taking b-roll footage of the police department.

He is soon approached by a sergeant from the department for being suspicious. Even though Phillip wasn't committing a crime, the sergeant asked him for his ID. Phillip informed him about Texas penal code 38.02 that you don't have to ID unless you've been lawfully arrested.

Sarge arrests him anyway. Since Phillip still wouldn't give them his ID the sergeant and another sergeant from the jail staff who works for the Sheriff's Office drove around the city with his keys they took off him at the jail to find his car. After they found his car, they illegally searched it to retrieve his ID.

They mocked him after finding his ID and were pretty cocky about it, but that didn't work out for them like they thought it would (as Phillip explains in this video). After all was said and done, Phillip was released, and all his charges were dismissed. Phillip doesn't take kindly to his rights being violated, so he sued both departments and was awarded $20,000. He got 2 Sergeants demoted for the actions that were explained in this publication they weren't fired, and the taxpayer paid for their unlawful actions
