There are also mini games, specifically, ship repair, potion brewing, fishing, cannon defense, blackjack, liar's dice, Tortuga hold 'em & undead poker.

Jack Sparrow, Hector Barbossa, Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann, Joshamee Gibbs, Tia Dalma and Jack the Monkey each appear in game along with the Black Pearl & the Queen Anne's Revenge.

Jolly Roger, Redd Kackler, Tomas Blanco, Jacques le Blanc, General Darkheart, General Hex, General Sandspine, General Bloodless, Neban the Silent, Remington the Vicious, Atticus the Wise, Black Swine Bailey, Edward Lohand, Lieutenant Addison Mayfield, El Patron, Lieutenant Funesto, Cicatriz, Foulberto Smasho, The Watcher, Palifico, Koleniko, Drizzle, Drench, Barramundi Oar, Jimmy Legs, Crash, Captain Windshadow, First Mate Zigana, LaSchafe, Devil Root & Dry Rot are among the most notable bosses with some bosses only appearing once, as is the case with El Patron, or only during invasions as is the case with Jolly Roger.

Some bosses respawn in the exact same spot after every defeat while other bosses are much more random in spawn location with the possibility of them not spawning at all.

The Lost Sword of El Patron, Silver Freeze, World Eater Blade, Behemoth Blade, Blade of the Abyss, The Emerald Curse, Norrington's Spyglass, Cursed Blade of Yore, Jack Sparrow's Blade, Ridgeway's Revenge, Devil's Claw, The Sapphire Curse, The Ruby Curse, The Onyx Curse, Silver Striker, Lost Blade of Leviathan, Krakenslayer, Sword of Triton, Soul's Shadow, Beckett's Pistol, Mercer's Pistol, Jack Sparrow's Revenge, Calypso's Radiance, Hornet Stinger, The Storm Sphere, Jack Sparrow's Spyglass & the Bottle Rocket Cannon Ram are among the most sought after legendary items with most of them being found by defeating specific bosses and then randomly appearing in loot pouches, loot chests, or the rarer loot skull chests.

Some legendary items in particular can be looted from anywhere.
