Описание: Essieh, a song about Twins. The Bangwa people preform this traditional dance that symbolizes peace. Esieh is performed during the birth of twin children for seven weeks with heavy feasting. Members of Essieh are " Tanyi " father of twin children and "Manyi" mother of twin children . "Asonganyi " a male twin child and " Ngenyi" a female twin child.
Dancers of Essieh are clothed with " Nchen" an expensive, traditional regalia and carry a long bamboo stick with a peace plant on the head or peace plant held in two hands. During the dancing ceremony, salt, oil, and water in a calabash are sprinkle on the ground to bless the land.
It is important to note that Essieh is always the first dance to perform at any event to bless the land before the commencement of other activities take place. The " Nduad" is a special mixture of traditional herbs with clean water that is drank by the dancers of Essieh. Those who drink the "Nduat" are people of peace, love, and goodwill.
