I wrote the lyrics for this song on a day off my last Dutch tour in March 2023 after a drive across the Afsluitdijk inspired some research into the amazing Zuiderzee Works. Engineer and politician Cornelis Lely, the driving force behind this mammoth project, died in 1929, just a few years after work started. With this song I just wanted to reassure his spirit that he did good and the Zuiderzee Works is a wonder of the modern world. I'm joined by Dutch singer Kristel Snellen and Scottish banjo player Raymond Collie.
