A rope grab device is a rope check valve that allows the device to slide in an upward direction but locks the rope when a downward motion is detected. For this functionality, the rope grab is a recognized safety device, also called a fall arrester.
It can also be used as a device to climb ropes. For this functionality, it is also called a rope ascender.
Used by tree arborist, mountaineers, rock climbers, linemen, and high rise workers.
