Rory Varrato, originally from western Pennsylvania, currently attends Arizona State University, where he graduated cum laude from Barrett, the Honors College with a B.A. in History after defending an undergraduate thesis titled Second Nature: A Practical Application of Nietzsche's Philosophy of History for Life. In fall 2012, he began pursuing graduate studies in Political Theory and International Relations at the School of Politics and Global Studies.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
