Nurse Shark "Attack!"

Описание: My good friend Carly Duncan and I were diving Nursery Reef off the coast of Pompano Beach, Florida. The locals usually refer to this dive site as "The Nursery." It's a shallow dive and is known for the many nurse sharks that live there. We were diving with South Florida Dive Headquarters aboard the Aqua View, a big glass-bottom pontoon type boat. The Captain and her Dive Master had started feeding the sharks at the boarding ladder during our dive, after the snorkelers were out of the water. Carly's mom had been snorkeling and was NOT happy about sharks of ANY KIND being fed while her daughter and I were in the water with them! But nurse sharks are normally gentle, docile animals, so the danger was minimal. When Carly and I got close to the boarding ladder, the sharks saw us and seemed to start "begging" us for more food. Notice one shark bump me on my left side. We didn't have any food for them, but I did have my GoPro camera running, and it made for some pretty exciting footage...at least from the perspectives of a country boy from the South Carolina mountains and his newly-certified dive buddy, who was on her first dive trip to an ocean. It was truly an experience worth remembering. I hope you enjoy!
